Communities
The Center for Neural Communication Technology (CNCT) serves as the premier worldwide resource for research, service, training, and dissemination of neural interface technologies for a variety of applications in the neurosciences. CNCT’s core research program is combined with equally balanced efforts in service, training, and dissemination to maximize the impact of its technology on the global research community.
With such a multifaceted mission, CNCT activities and resources have relevance to broad, overlapping communities of researchers, the neurodevice industry, clinicians, and the general public.
The Center’s leadership and staff are interested in actively engaging each of these communities in order to use CNCT resources to best further neuroscience research and, ultimately, contribute to improved health care.
Advances in the design, fabrication, assessments of function, and applications for microfabricated neural prosthetic devices will be greatly facilitated by a forum to discuss critical issues. The CNCT has launched the Neural Interface Initiative to engage a growing community of engineers, neuroscientists, and clinicians in developing a forum for discussing common needs, solutions, and goals that will lead to long-term, high fidelity device performance for recording and stimulating neuron activity in the central and peripheral nervous systems.
